The front end consists of the computer network of users and essential applications to give access to the cloud system. 

The back end is the “cloud” section of the system, which comprises different systems for machines, servers, and data storage that make the cloud. A cloud system may have different computer programmes, including processing and games.

The main difference between cloud computing and cloud storage is their usage. Through cloud computing users can access a remote computing network that includes different software applications and shared resources.  

Conversely, cloud storage is about data storage in a remote data centre through hardware. Users can store and access their data from any device using the internet. 

Users can send files to a virtual server of a cloud provider. A good example is Google Drive and Dropbox, which allow users to store and share files.

No system or application is foolproof. Hackers come up with sophisticated methods to breach even the most robust security system. 

This is why studies on various companies reveal that around 94 per cent of them are seriously concerned about cloud security.

According to a report by Check Point Research, the instances of cyberattacks have gone up 50 per cent year-over-year. Globally, every organisation is facing as many as 925 cyberattacks per week. In 2021, companies witnessed 50 per cent more weekly attacks than in 2020.

Although the cloud system is highly secure, we still need to implement some of the best practices:

  • Enable two-factor authentication.

  • Make sure not to use the same password in different accounts and devices and keep the password safe in a password manager.

  • Keep backups of all the important personal and business documents.

  • Update your systems regularly, be it Windows or macOS.

  • If you are a business owner, keep your employees updated on different security measures to protect their systems and data.
