IFA 2022 - What to Expect?

What to Expect from the Participating Brands at the Event?

If you are tech-savvy and love exploring electronic gadgets, there is good news for you! Internationale Funkausstellung or IFA is making a comeback this year.

IFA is the largest trade show for consumer electronics in Europe and will take place between September 2 and 6 in the capital of Germany, Berlin.

The trade show was cancelled in 2021 due to COVID-19. This year participants can again attend the event in person and have a glimpse of fascinating innovations by big brands in the electronics space.

We can expect a few major announcements from global giants such as Samsung, Lenovo, LG Huawei and others.

One big brand that will likely be missing this year is Sony. However, we still have several big names that are likely to come up with major product development or launch announcements.

Asus

Asus has always been an integral part of IFA for years, and this time it will be no exception. The company will launch its latest and exciting range of computers at the event.

Asus has recently launched a website that displays a count-down timer for IFA, which will probably unveil the secret on August 31st, only days before IFA 2022.

The showstopper for the brand will be the Asus Zenbook OLED 17” Fold, and many attendees will be curious to know more about this launch.

Although the unveiling event may not happen during the convention, it will most probably feature on the show floor.

Garmin

Garmin will be present at IFA, and it is likely to come up and make the most of this big tech event by showing its latest range of fitness watches.

The company has made its name by producing high-end fitness trackers. At IFA, we will probably see the launch of some of the latest fitness watches, such as Garmin Vivomove Trend, Garmin Venu Sq 2, Garmin Instinct Analog, Garmin Austin, MARQ II series, and Garmin Descent S1. All of these will help users accurately monitor their fitness level while working out.

Honor

Honor used to be a sub-brand of the Chinese tech company Huawei. Later it parted ways from Huawei in November 2020, and is now recognised as a stand-alone brand and will present its line of products at IFA 2022.

Recently, Honor came up with a teaser that revealed the brand will showcase its new smartphones, laptops, tablets, and true wireless headphones (TWS) at IFA 2022. The company may also come up with smart home products.

On September 2, at 11 am ET/5 pm CEST/4 pm BST, Honor executives will deliver a keynote speech and talk about the company’s line of products.

Huawei

The Chinese tech giant had a major presence at the past IFAs, using the events to announce its new smartphones.

At IFA 2022 too, the company is likely to come up with a few things, like highlighting the Huawei Mate 50 series. This series will probably have a total of four models, such as the base model Huawei Mate 50e, Pro and Mate 50 RS versions.

Other than smartphones, Huawei might show its new laptop and networking product line-ups.

LG

LG shut down its mobile division worldwide in December 2021. However, the company is still not out of the tech market. The brand had participated in IFA events in the past, and we can expect its presence at the event this year.

There is a possibility that LG might come up with new TVs, appliances, and other technologies. Most probably the company will showcase its expanded version of the premium CineBeam 4K laser projector line-up with the latest Ultra Short Throw (UST) laser projector model HU915QE.

Nokia

The Finnish mobile phone manufacturer HMD Global has already confirmed its participation at the upcoming IFA 2022, and the company’s keynote speech will happen on September 1st.

There is anticipation for the launch of the new Nokia G and X series. The CEO of HMD Global has already given a hint that the focus will be on launching affordable 5G phones.

Philips

Philips and its parent company TP Vision will be present at this year’s event, and we can expect some new products.

Recently TP Vision announced they will launch some new products at IFA 2022. During the event, the company will highlight its upcoming Philips audio/TV products and disclose TP Vision’s progress on product design and sustainability.

Qualcomm

The Qualcomm president Cristiano Amon will deliver the introductory keynote speech at IFA 2022, as he did last year.

Qualcomm produces various smartphones, tablets, audio, and other devices that are backed with 5G and Artificial intelligence, and will probably come up with a few this year.

The company will probably unveil a new range of laptops integrated with a Snapdragon chipset.

Samsung

Samsung is currently one of the largest tech companies in the world and has made a name due to its innovative smartphones, TVs, audio systems, and other tech items.

The company did not attend IFA last year, instead hosted its own 'Life Unstoppable' event during the same time. This year, it will be back at the event.

Although Samsung usually keeps its major announcements on smartphones for its own “Unpack events,” it often reveals its new range of TVs, audio systems, and home appliances at IFA.

We could witness a new range of SmartThings products, which is the Internet of Things (IoT) platform of Samsung for washing machines, smart fridges, and others.

TCL

TCL is known for producing TVs in an affordable price range. The company has released a statement confirming its presence at IFA 2022.

This year TCL will begin with a global press conference on September 1, and then showcase its products throughout the event in its spacious booth covering 2,500 square meters.

The company will present its latest TVs, smart wearables, sound bars, a whole range of smart home appliances, and new TV prototypes.
