Open the item "Network" in settings. There you can activate "WLAN" and search for the WLAN network you'd like to connect to. Press "Connect" and enter the WLAN password when prompted. Then confirm the entry.
The IEEE standards for WLAN in the 2.4 GHz frequency range are called 802.11b (outdated) -g and -n.
Changing the location of your WLAN router can make a big difference. Switching from 5 GHz to 2.4 GHz can also improve the range. Another option is to set up a WLAN repeater.
Any device that works in the 2.4 or 5 GHz range can potentially interfere with your WLAN. Even Bluetooth (also operates in the 2.4 GHz range) and WLAN on the same frequency can cause interference.
