Make sure your battery is charged. Press and hold the power button for 5–10 seconds to force it to restart. If the display is still black, wait 1–2 minutes and call the phone from another device to see if only the display is defective.
If you want to download and install an app in the Playstore, the android checks whether the app is compatible with your device and the version of the operating system. If it's not, the app won't be installed. For apps from other sources, "Protection from third-party providers" may be activated on your smartphone in old android versions.
